For as long as I can remember, sleep was a struggle. As a child. As a teenager. Through college, grad school, early adulthood, motherhood, and even as a therapist.
I used to think it was just part of who I was—someone who lay awake wired, overwhelmed, or emotionally wiped out. But it wasn’t until I fell asleep at the wheel in college that I realized: this wasn’t just a quirk. This was a serious wake-up call.
I was stressed, overcommitted, under-rested, and completely disconnected from what my body needed.
That moment—and everything that followed—put me on the path to reclaiming sleep as the foundation of health. And it changed how I practice therapy forever.
After years of working in mental health and experiencing the impact of postpartum sleep deprivation, professional burnout, and the collective trauma of COVID, I hit another breaking point. Medication helped, but I wanted a long-term, sustainable, natural way to feel like myself again.
That’s when I discovered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I used it on myself—before I ever used it with clients—and the results were life-changing. I slept through the night. My energy came back. My mood lifted. I felt alive again.
Then I started sharing it with my clients—and they started reporting the same things:
“I’m finally sleeping again.” “My anxiety is lower.” “I can think clearly.” “I feel human again.”
It became clear: If I could only help with one thing, it would be sleep.
But sleep is just the beginning. Once you're rested, your nervous system becomes a powerful partner in healing. That’s why I also use Brainspotting, a gentle, brain-body therapy that helps you process the deeper emotional experiences that talk therapy can’t always reach.Together, CBT-I and Brainspotting form the heart of how I help.pointment.
Direct. Compassionate. Focused. Effective.
I don’t do surface-level therapy. I don’t believe in dragging out the work or avoiding the hard stuff. But I do believe in safety, humor, creativity, and clear steps forward.
We’ll start with the basics—your body, your sleep, your rhythms—then move into the deeper stuff when you're ready. That’s how we build therapy that sticks.
Clients often tell me:
“I didn’t think what you said would work—but it did.”
“I heard your voice in my head telling me to be gentle with myself.”
“You helped me get back to who I really am.”
I specialize in helping creative-minded, empathic adults—especially therapists, healthcare professionals, and artists—who are high-functioning but deeply tired. Many of my clients are struggling with:
I'm still a dancer. I skate, do yoga, and cheer for the Carolina Hurricanes. I value time with my family, movement that feels good, and deep conversations that get to the heart of things. I believe in the power of rest, rhythm, and realness.
